Light scattering
Description

The interaction of light with matter reveals important information about the structure of the material being examined. A study of the scattered light as a function of scattering angle gives information about (changes in) the structure and morphology of the scattering medium. For this purpose, AMOLF researchers have angle-resolved light scattering spectroscopy at their disposal to study scattering from single micro- and nanostructures.

We also study and utilize the scattering of (single) photons in nanophotonic structures. This topic is described under photon scattering.
